Assisted hatching
Assisted hatching is a modern technique used in the process of in vitro fertilization (IVF) to increase the likelihood of successful implantation of the embryo into the uterine mucosa. This method is used in cases where the outer shell of the embryo (zona pellucida) is too dense, which can make it difficult for it to exit and attach to the endometrium.

When is assisted hatching used?

– The woman is over 37 years old (with age, the egg shell becomes harder).

– Several unsuccessful IVF attempts in the anamnesis.

-Thick or abnormally dense embryo shell.

-Use of frozen and thawed embryos.

-Use of donor eggs.

How does the procedure work?

Embryo preparation

the procedure is performed on the 3rd-5th day of embryo development in laboratory conditions.

Destruction of the shell

A small hole is created in the protective shell of the embryo using a special laser, chemical or mechanical method.

Transfer of the embryo into the uterus

the embryo is transferred into the uterine cavity, where it more easily attaches to the endometrium.
